About Estate Kit

No one should have to guess what the person they love wanted, or what to do next.

Ten years ago, my dad was being wheeled into brain surgery. He grabbed my arm and said, “If this goes sideways, you’re my decision-maker on everything.”

I froze. I had spent my career in finance. He was a retired tax lawyer. We understood the legal and financial side of planning, but standing in that hallway, I realized I still didn’t know the practical things I would need: where his accounts were, what he wanted for his care, how to access his digital life, or what I was supposed to do first.

The surgery went well. But I couldn’t stop thinking about that moment. If a family with every advantage could still be this unprepared, how many others were leaving the people they loved with the same questions?

Estate Kit grew from that question.

Amy Baryshnik

Founder & President

Amy has two decades of leadership in operations and investing, guiding businesses through growth, transformation, and transactions across retail, technology, and investment management. She holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and an HBA with Distinction from Ivey Business School. Amy serves on the boards of NEXT Canada and the Harvard Business School Club of Toronto, and on the Investment Committee of the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto.

Josh Arndt

Chief Technology Officer

Josh has two decades of experience building and scaling digital products and teams across startups and enterprise, including technology leadership roles at TELUS, Loblaw, and Walmart Canada. His passion is turning ambitious ideas into solutions people love to use.

Simon Skrudland

Senior Full Stack Developer

Simon builds end-to-end software with an emphasis on thoughtful, durable architecture. He has extensive startup experience building applications and products across real estate, sales, social media, and estate management, turning complex problems into software that is simple, reliable, and built to last.

Anne Gothong

Senior Full Stack Developer

Anne builds Estate Kit end to end, with a focus on the parts families use every day. Her previous engineering work includes Shopify, Cornerstone OnDemand and Farmers Edge.

Krishal Ramesh

Marketing Lead

Krishal leads marketing at Estate Kit, which mostly means making a subject most people would rather avoid easier to understand. He is responsible for how Estate Kit is explained: what it does, who it is for, and what it does not do. His background is in industries where being accurate matters as much as being clear.
